Global Recycling Day
Every year up to 2B metric tons of substantial waste are produced by the population of our planet. Only 16% of that is recycled, but it’s already saving 700M metric tons of CO2 emissions from our atmosphere. Lamentably 46% of that trash is unsustainably disposed, being sufficient to completely fill 368,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
What means unsustainably disposed?
… landfilled, incinerated, and littered or illegally discarded in the environment.
Certainly a 16% recycling percentage is not enough. We need more action and engagement to fight this growing environmental crisis, before it becomes an humanitarian crisis. Today, March 18th is the Global Recycling Day, therefore Silversquare celebrates the businesses and everyone who is looking for it, as our member: A beautiful Green – integrating sustainable development practices into business strategy.

- Reduce Energy (use stairs, close applications that you don’t use regularly on your computer, use laptops instead of desktops as they use less energy, turn down the brightness setting on your computer screen)
